General Information And Fees

This Fee Schedule lists all fees imposed by the West Allis Municipal Code. If there is any conflict between the Code and this Fee Schedule, the Fee Schedule shall control. If a fee amount exceeds the amount allowed by state or federal law, the fee shall be reduced to equal the maximum amount allowed by law. All fees imposed within the Code and identified within this Fee Schedule shall be administered in compliance with Wis. Stat. 66.0628.

Each department shall collect the following fees for the services listed:

Reproduction Fee. Each record custodian may impose a fee upon a requester for any copy of a record listed in the table below. If the type of record is not listed in the table below, the record custodian may impose a fee upon a requester for each copy of a record that does not exceed the actual, necessary, and direct cost of reproduction and transcription of the record.

Location Fee. Each record custodian may impose a location fee upon a requester that does not exceed the actual, necessary and direct cost of locating the record if the cost to find a record by searching, examining, or experimenting exceeds $50 based on the wage and fringe rate of the lowest paid employee capable of performing the task.
Shipping Fee. Each record custodian may impose a fee upon a requester for the actual, necessary and direct cost of mailing or shipping of any copy or photograph of a record which is mailed or shipped to the requester.
Other Fees. Each record custodian may impose any other fee upon a requester if that fee is authorized by law.

Plumbing-

Permit Fees. For any of the work listed below, the code enforcement director may charge a fee for a plumbing permit to perform such work. Unless otherwise stated in the table, the minimum fee for a plumbing permit is $100.00 for a one- or two-family dwelling and $125.00 for any other building, except the minimum fee for any new construction shall be $175.00. Any fee based on lineal feet is not prorated and shall rounded up for any fractional lengths.

* There is no fee for a "Class A" liquor license containing the condition that retail sales of intoxicating liquor are limited to cider.

Fees for Reserve "Class B" Liquor License. The city clerk shall collect an initial issuance fee of $10,000.00 for a reserve “Class B" license. The city clerk shall collect a renewal fee for a reserve “Class B" license that is the same as a regular "Class B" license.

Other Business Licenses

Permanent Businesses from Fixed Location. The city clerk shall collect the following amounts as applicable. Any licensee whose renewal application will not be considered by the common council prior to expiration may apply for a provisional license to continue to operate for up to 60 days and pay a provisional license fee of $25.00. The clerk shall grant a provisional license to a qualified applicant.

Engineer
